Save the Children

Save the Children is an organization that works in Canada and 120 countries overseas in order to raise funds for health and nutrition, education, HIV and AIDS, child protection, livelihoods, food security, emergency relief and child rights. Their goal is to “inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.”

Accomplishments

Just to name a few, Save the Children has:

  • Reduced child mortality rates from 12,6 million to 6.6 million
  • Risen global aid from 72 billion to 133 billion
  • Lifted 600 million people out of poverty
  • Provided 56 million more children with education
  • Treated 221,602 malaria cases
  • Treated 11,353 malnutrition cases
